St. Stephen's Church, Tonbridge
with St. Eanswythe's Mission
Powered by the presence of God, shaped for the purposes of God

Over the last few months, I and the PCC have felt we need to get back to some of the basics of what it means to be a disciple. This theme will be central to our church life in the coming months and years, and so I hope and pray that the weekend will be a chance for us as individuals and as a church, to pause, to listen and to weigh what God is saying and calling us to be. I am delighted that Peter Guinness will be opening the Bible to us as he leads the adult teaching sessions on the theme of Growing as a confident disciple of Jesus.

Tonbridge Children's Workshop and a team from St Matt's Church Tunbridge Wells will be with us for the weekend, leading sessions for our younger children. There will also be a team leading our youth as well. These sessions, plus the excellent facilities on offer during the Saturday afternoon, mean our children and youth should also have a fantastic weekend.

On Saturday afternoon we'll have the use of the beautiful school grounds, including playing fields, picnic areas, tennis courts, swimming pool and sports hall (please bring your swimming costume and/or any sports equipment you might want to use). If you prefer something less energetic, we're also hoping to put on a film, some board games and also a craft session.

On Saturday evening, two funny men from Searchlight Theatre Company* will join us for a hilarious dash through all 90 chapters of Genesis and Exodus in just 90 minutes. Also suitable for children aged 10+, with lots of laughs, floods, snakes and plagues, they have entertained audiences around the world, including at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

There is an extra cost for the Saturday evening entertainment. If you are going to be there (and we highly recommend that you are!) please select the (WITH Saturday evening entertainment) option when you book.

To book your place(s) for the weekend please visit our online booking page.

Finally, we don't want the price to cause anyone to not be there. Therefore, if you would like to come along but need some financial assistance please contact the church office.

I do hope you will make this time together a priority in your diary, so we can all grow as disciples of Jesus.
